JW’s Smokehouse Burger Recipe

JW’s Smokehouse Burger Recipe is as good or better than most restaurant style burgers. The smoked flavor adds that extra something that will just make you go “YUM”. Don’t have a smoker? No problem. You can grill it on the grill or on indoor grill pan.

JW’s Smokehouse Burger Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 lbs Lean Ground Beef (I do 93% with only 7% fat)
  • 1/4 cup Seasoned Bread Crumbs
  • 1 1/2 tsp Garlic Salt
  • 1 tsp Paprika
  • 1 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper
  • 1/4 cup Fat Free Milk
  • 6 slices of bacon

Instructions:

Combine beef, bread crumbs, garlic salt, paprika, garlic powder, black pepper and milk. Mix together well without mashing. Form into patties and set aside or refrigerate until ready to cook.

Preheat smoker to the highest setting. I have an electric Traeger smoker and it’s highest setting is 450 degrees. Depending on your smoker, you may not get that high so you may need to adjust the cooking time.

Once smoker is heated, place burgers and bacon directly on grill of smoker.  Close the lid and smoke for 7 minutes.  Flip both the burgers and the bacon.  Close the lid and cook for about 5 minutes. Check bacon (probably should remove at this point) and check the beef. For a Medium burger I did a 10 minutes on the second side. Average total smoking time will be 14-20 minutes, depending on how you like your burgers cooked. Use a thermometer if you aren’t sure.

Remove from grill and serve with your favorite fixin’s.
