Hot Spiced Wine (Mulled Wine) Recipe
Perfect for a cold winter night or a holiday gathering. Just having this simmer on the stove makes it smell like the holidays.
My sister Suz made this for our Lighted Boat Parade Christmas Party we had several years ago. It was a huge hit. The spices with the wine makes such an enticing aroma, the whole house just smells like Christmas.
Hot Spiced Wine (Mulled Wine)
- 1/2 teaspoon Whole Allspice
- 6 Whole Cloves
- 1/2 teaspoon Dried Orange Peel
- 2 Cinnamon Sticks
- 1 dash Nutmeg
- 1 bottle Red Wine (750 ml)
- 1/2 cup Sugar
|Create a spice packet by putting the spices in cheesecloth tied with a string. In a saucepan, combine the spice packet with the wine and sugar. Simmer for 20 minutes. Remove spice packet before serving. Garnish with Cinnamon Sticks if desired. |
