This is not really a recipe so much as a simple and easy way to serve Polish perogies. There are many ways to serve perogies, but this Dressed Perogies Recipe is how I prepare them when I serve them with Sauerkraut as it is a great compliment.
Dressed Perogies Recipe
- 18 Perogies (frozen)
- 1-2 Tbl Butter
- 1/2 cup diced onions (green or yellow)
- 1/4 cup diced celery (optional)
Prepare Perogies per package instructions. While perogies are cooking, in large pan heat butter with onions and celery. Cook on medium-low while perogies cook. When perogies are done per package instructions, drain but do not rinse. Add drained perogies to pan and increase heat to medium-high. Cook while tossing in butter and onion mixture for about 2 minutes. You can even brown the bottom of the perogies if desired. Serve with Sauerkraut.
