This chocolate cake recipe is a great dark chocolate recipe that is moist and fluffy. Perfect for use as a decorated birthday cake.
Preheat oven to 350°.
In large mixer bowl, combine dry ingredients. Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla. Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes. Remove from mixer, stir in boiling water. Pour into greased/floured pans immediately and bake for about 22 to 33 minutes, or until toothpick comes out clean.
This recipe was in my family cookbook without any notes. My sister Suz thinks it’s one of her recipes as she remembers making a cake with hot water. But, the origin? We aren’t quite certain.
But, it doesn’t matter where this recipe came from as it is a winner. It was so good that I broke my diet for it… and I gained 4 pounds! Ack! Back on the wagon trying to be good. But honestly, it was worth it! YUMMY!
