Hamburger Stroganoff Recipe

No need for Hamburger Helper.  This is an easy and quick weeknight meal. The noodles take longer to make than this.

Hamburger Stroganoff

  • 1lb Ground Beef (93% lean)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garlic Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon Pepper
  • 1 cup Diced Onions
  • 2 tablespoons Better than Bouillon Beef
  • 2 teaspoons Dry Mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Dry Parsley Flakes
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
  • 1/4 cup Red Wine
  • 2 cans Cream of Mushroom Soup (10 oz each)
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 2 cups Sour Cream


Step 1
In large 5-quart fry pan (chicken fryer), brown the beef with garlic salt and pepper.
Step 2
Add the red onions and cook until red onions are soft.
Step 3
Add better than bouillon, dry mustard, dry parsley, and paprika and mix well. Add the wine and cook until wine is mostly gone.
Step 4
Add the mushroom soup. Use the milk to rinse out the cans and add it to the mixture. Cook until bubbly.
Step 5
Stir in the sour cream and bring back up to a boil. Reduce heat and keep on low until ready to serve. Serve over egg noodles.
