This American Fried Rice Recipe is not your typical recipe. It uses similar methods as with Chinese Fried Rice, but this is using American flavors. Perfect if you have leftover rice and want to switch it up.

Ingredients
- 2-3 tablespoons Butter or Olive Oil
- 1/2 bunch Green Onions (chopped)
- 3 cups Cooked Rice (white or brown)
- 3/4 cups Chicken Broth
- Salt (optional, to taste (not needed if using butter))
Directions
Step 1 | |
In a large skillet, heat the butter and green onions until the green onions become fragrant and start to soften.
Step 2 | |
Add the rice, breaking up as you put it in, and cook the rice until it is hot, stirring constantly while breaking up the rice.
Step 3 | |
Add 1/4 cup of the chicken broth, stirring constantly and cook until all liquid is absorbed. Do this 2 more times.
Step 4 | |
After all the liquid is absorbed, cook a little longer if you want to get some of the rice browned. Remove from heat and serve. |
Similar to a Rice Pilaf, this rice recipe uses it’s base as chicken broth. The butter and green onion also help enhance the flavor of the rice so it becomes a perfect accompaniment to your chicken dinner.
Enjoy!
