Apple Crisp (No Added Sugar) Recipe

I’m always looking for ways to curb my cravings for sugar. No sugar diets are hard, but recipes like this are what get me through my tough cravings. No added sugar and you can still have a sweet dessert.

Apple Crisp (No Added Sugar)

Ingredients

  • 1 4oz Container Applesauce with NO SUGAR
  • 2 Crispy Apples (sliced with or without skin)
  • 1 Ripe Pear (diced without skin)
  • 2 tablespoons Flour (divided)
  • 4 teaspoons Cinnamon (divided)
  • 1 1/2 tablespoon Butter (melted)
  • 3/4 cups Oats

Directions

Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Step 2
In a bowl, combine 1 Tablespoon Flour with 2 teaspoons of Cinnamon. Toss in the apples and pears. Stir in 2 tablespoons of the applesauce. Spray a small casserole dish (4x4) with pam and add the apples.
Step 3
In a separate bowl, combine the butter and the remaing applesauce. Add the cinnamon, flour and oats. Stir to combine. Add to the top of the apple mixture.
Step 4
Bake at 350 degrees for 45-60 minutes, or until the apples are soft. Serve warm.


I’ve been mostly sugar free since early April 2015 (minus a few days here/there). It is tough to do, those sugar cravings are really painful. So, I’ve been inventing ways to eat fruit so that it makes me feel like I’m getting something more sinful.

This Apple Crisp smells so amazing when it is baking. And you could serve this to your friends and family without anyone questioning that it is sugar free, it tastes that good. Try it and let me know what you think.

  • This apple dish looks delicious. I will have to try it exactly as is. I am trying to adopt a healthier diet and this recipe would be a great addition.
