Chinese Stewed Pigs Feet Recipe

I know this may be difficult for some people to stomach, but this pig feet recipe is a common dish in China and really is very delicious. It’s a little sweet with a delicious aroma from the five spice and a little salty from the soy sauce.  YUM!

Be sure to buy the pigs feet at the Chinese markets if you can and you will get fresh, not frozen, pigs feet and they will be super meaty, not just fatty.  It’s amazing to me the similarities in the food between Chinese and Polish cooking.  This is one of those crossovers. It’s definitely different than Polish Pigs Feet & Sauerkraut, but it’s hard for me to pick my favorite now.

Chinese Stewed Pigs Feet

  • 5 cups Low Sodium Soy Sauce
  • 1 cup Sherry
  • 4 tablespoons 5-Spice Seasoning
  • 1 Ginger Root (peeled & sliced)
  • 1 tablespoon Seasoned Rice Wine Vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon Granulated White Sugar
  • 6lb Pigs Feet (Cleaned and cut up)


Step 1
Place all ingredients into a large stock pot. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to a simmer, cover, and cook for 5-6 hours.
