Justin’s Stewed Cinnamon Apples Recipe

When kids cook, something magical happens. My son decided one day that he had an idea for apples. This was the result. A tangy and delicious cinnamon apple that makes the house smell like the holidays.

Justin’s Stewed Cinnamon Apples

Ingredients

stewing

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 3 apples (sliced and cored)

cinnamon sugar

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Directions

Cinnamon Sugar
Step 1
Make the cinnamon sugar by mixing together 1/2 cup granulated sugar and 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon. Set aside
Stewing
Step 2
Bring water, vinegar sugar and cinnamon to a boil and boil on medium heat for 1 minute. Add cut up apples and cook for 3 minutes, covered.
Dusting
Step 3
Remove apples, drain and then roll in the cinnamon sugar mixture. Rest on parchment paper for 1 minute to cool. Serve warm for best flavor.
