Inspired by one of my friend’s meatball recipes (yes, that’s you Joe!), this is a simple and easy way to prepare a meatball appetizer for your next party.
I served this last weekend at a graduation party. When I told everyone what was in it, they looked at me like I was crazy. But, they kept eating them, and eating them, and eating them. They are definitely addicting.
I’m a bit of a wimp, so the heat level of these meatballs is very tame. Perfect for a mixed crowd. But hey, if you want them spicier, just add more chili garlic sauce. They can get as spicy as you like.
Eventually I’ll get Joe’s meatballs posted, but first I have to get his permission 🙂

I wanted to make meatballs for a party I was attending but didn't have the ingredients for Joe's Balls, so I came up with this recipe. It is a contender for the best meatball appetizer.
Ingredients
- 1 18oz jar Strawberry Jam
- 1/4 cup Lite Soy Sauce
- 1/4 cup Lo Mein Sauce (or Oyster Sauce)
- 2 tablespoons Chili Garlic Sauce (or more to taste)
- 3lb Frozen Meatballs
Directions
Step 1 | |
Combine all ingredients except meatballs in a saucepan. | |
Step 2 | |
Heat all ingredients to dissolve the jelly. Add the meatballs and simmer or slow cook for at least one hour before serving. |
