So simple this really isn’t a recipe, but just reminder of how easy and fast it is to cook tofu. Use our rub recipe or your own.
Either way, this is a great way to serve tofu as either an appetizer (served with a dipping sauce) or as a main dish with rice and vegetables.
Fried Tofu Cakes
- 1 Package extra firm tofu
- 1 tablespoon chicken rub
- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil

|Remove tofu from package and pat dry with paper towels. You can choose to press out excess water, but I usually don't take the time and instead just pat with the paper towels. Slice into rectangle cakes.|
|Sprinkle lightly on both sides with Chicken Rub (or other seasoning of choice). See recipe link in notes.|
|In a non-stick pan, add vegetable oil and heat pan on medium-high. Add tofu to pan, leaving room and not crowding the pan. Fry both sides until golden brown.|
