Hot Spiced Wine (Mulled Wine)

- 1/2 teaspoon Whole Allspice
- 6 Whole Cloves
- 1/2 teaspoon Dried Orange Peel
- 2 Cinnamon Sticks
- 1 dash Nutmeg
- 1 bottle Red Wine (750 ml)
- 1/2 cup Sugar
|Create a spice packet by putting the spices in cheesecloth tied with a string. In a saucepan, combine the spice packet with the wine and sugar. Simmer for 20 minutes. Remove spice packet before serving. Garnish with Cinnamon Sticks if desired.|
My sister Suz made this for our Lighted Boat Parade Christmas Party we had several years ago. It was a huge hit. The spices with the wine makes such an enticing aroma, the whole house just smells like Christmas.
