Sue got this recipe from her parents who used to own a Chinese Restaurant in Downtown San Jose. These shrimp are so easy to make but taste so amazing, you will want to serve them all the time.

Garlic Ginger Shrimp

Sue got this recipe from her parents who used to own a Chinese Restaurant in Downtown San Jose. These shrimp are so easy to make but taste so amazing, you will want to serve them all the time.

Ingredients

  • 1lb Tiger Prawns (or large shrimp, peeled, deveined, tail on)
  • 6 Green Onions (sliced thin in 1)
  • 1 4-inch Ginger Root (sliced thin and/or chopped)
  • 1-2 teaspoon Garlic (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 1/2 cup Dry Vermouth
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt (or more to taste)
  • 1/4 teaspoon Ground Black Pepper (or more to taste)

Directions

Step 1
In a large nonstick skillet, sauté the onions, garlic, and ginger for about 2-3 minutes. Add the wine, salt, and pepper and bring to a boil. Add the shrimp and cook on high heat, stirring constantly until all shrimp are cooked (about 4-5 minutes).
Serve immediately.

  • I have used this recipe several times, so good….. I have even used frozen shelled shrimp and it was equally delicious… Also you can add a little cream or lemon juice, or white wine just ‘cuz’ , but this recipe is perfect just as it is…..yummy !!!!
